Live Traffic in Bangalore

There are three services that gives bangaloreans an idea about the traffic conditions in bangalore. The 3 are from mapmyIndia , google maps and BTIS.

MapmyIndia Live Traffic

The traffic conditions as shown get updated very frequently but however lacks showing a day or two old traffic data . It covers a vast portion of bangalore ,sadly there is no realtime traffic video.It also does not incorporate this data while giving you directions.This is just to give users a heads up before they head out.

Google Maps Live Traffic

A more sophisticated traffic and mapping system from google provides live traffic but the user cant see when the traffic status had gotten updated though they can go back in time and see the traffic condition and how it has changed which is a neat feature to have also it incorporates the traffic data into the driving direction which I found to be too optimistic especially in today's bangalore traffic.Overall android users will feel this service enhance their in-built navigation, for the rest its just another heads up before heading out.

BTIS Live Traffic

This website provides very accurate updates on the traffic conditions in bangalore. However it has some limitations mainly the way it shows maps all the roads are in the same color making it hard to distinguish main roads from highways and also that it does not incorporate the traffic data to provide driving direction.The neat feature is that you can see live traffic and make your own estimate also you can get live traffic information and direction even on a basic handset by just sending an sms.
