The new iPad mini is out and it features the exact same internals of the iPad 2 packed into a 7.9 inch screen. The display is inferior to the likes of nexus and Kindle devices however there are two versions one containing only Wi-Fi and the other with data connections.the devices are currently available online for the prices ranging between 27,000 and Rs. 44,000 for the Wi-Fi only model.

It is still not currently available in retail outlets it is probable to come out in late November and early December officially.Personally it makes sense in buying the iPhone 5 or the full-scale iPad rather than this.

The nexus 7 which is the major competitor to this product is comparatively better and available at cheaper price tag.Mainly because

1.The iPad mini has a 4:3 aspect ratio, while the Nexus 7 has a 16:9.
2.The iPad mini has a larger footprint than the Nexus 7.
3.The back of the Nexus 7 was designed to be held in the hand , the ipad however has a slippery and
   scratch prone back.
4.The Nexus 7 charges via mini USB, while the ipad mini uses Apple's own Lightning connector.
